Conocernos no fue un error

Tampoco coincidencia

Fue la voluntad de Dios

Soberana y perfecta

En el momento justo

Que mi mundo desvanecía

Que el amor había dejado

Una huella amarga en mi vida

Repentino y lejano,

My present’s this poem
You’ve got enough “stuff”
And sometimes “Happy Birthday”
Just isnt enough

I wrote you this poem
But where do I start?
Ill think of something special
From deep in my heart

Id tell you your special
But you’d already know
Though you might not admit it
It’s starting to show

You say that youre Garfield
And I say “how so?”
You act more like odie
Youre just jealous…I know.

You know and I know
We both know together
And even though were apart
You know me much better

And ill ask God tonight
Ill bow and ill pray
Thank him you are in my life
Because you make my day

And I wrote you this poem
I know its not much
But i hope that you like it
Its got that “personal” touch

Dream

And yet I dare you

To draw that starting line

With the notion that you have no intention of coming back

Youll line up with the others

Let distance be your friend

No obstacle too big to overcome

And dare not to look behind

For seeing such could cause you to fall

And when you reach that blessed horizon

Let out a smile…because you know

That this is your time

We Few
We happy Few
We band of brothers
For he today that sheds his blood with me, shall be my brother!
And gentlemen now a-bed shall think to themselves accursed
They were not here
And hold their manhoods cheap
Whiles any speaks
That fought with us
Upon this day!

PORQUE TU AMOR ES MI ESPINA
POR LAS CUATRO ESQUINAS HABLAN DE LOS DOS
QUE ES UN ESCANDALO DICEN
Y HASTA ME MALDICEN POR DARTE MI AMOR

NO HAGAS CASO DE LA GENTE
SIGUE LA CORRIENTE Y QUIEREME MAS
CON ESO TENGO BASTANTE
VAMOS ADELANTE SIN VER QUE DIRAN

SI YO PUDIERA ALGUN DIA
REMONTARME A LAS ESTRELLAS
CONMIGO TE LLEVARIA
ADONDE NADIE NOS VIERA

NO HAGAS CASO DE LA GENTE
SIGUE LA CORRIENTE Y QUIEREME MAS
QUE SI ESTO ES ESCANDALOSO
ES MAS VERGONZOSO NO SABER AMAR

SI YO PUDIERA ALGUN DIA
REMONTARME A LAS ESTRELLAS
CONMIGO TE LLEVARIA
ADONDE NADIE NOS VIERA

NO HAGAS CASO DE LA GENTE
SIGUE LA CORRIENTE Y QUIEREME MAS
QUE SI ESTO ES ESCANDALOSO
ES MAS VERGONZOSO NO SABER AMAR

Dream

This next poem i though of after a great dream i had the other night. You know when you have those dreams and they seem so real? It just seemed to end too soon..... Let me know what you think.

"Dream"

So soft...unrelenting
So warm and so near
You heart beating softly
Is all i could hear

I held you..said nothing
But silence is gold
Ill hold you forever
And let the story unfold

You whispered so softly
You asked if i could
You asked if i wanted
And i thought we should

Id pack all my thing
In my backpack and car
We would leave this place
And go some place far

A ticket to nowhere
No passport to show
The road our companion
To watch us as we grow

I struggle to keep it
This time with you
I want it, I need it
But i wake up too soon

I know its not over
In my dreams we will meet
I toss and i turn
And go back to sleep

I will disappear in to the person I love. I am the permeable membrane. If I love you, you can have everything. You can have my time, my devotion, my ass, my money, my family, my dog, my dog's money, my dog's time--everything. If I love you, I will carry for you all your pain, I will assume for you all your debts (in every definition of the word) , I will protect you from your own insecurity, I will project upon you all sorts of good qualities and I will buy Christmas presents for your entire family. I will give you the sun and the rain, and if they are not available, I will give you a sun check and a rain check. I will give you all this and more, until I get so exhausted and depleted that the only way I can recover my energy is by becoming infatuated with someone else.
I do not relay these facts about myself with pride, but this is how I have always been.

I only have 17 days.
I really need to starting hanging out with some of my real friends more than i have, because i probably wont be able to see them for a while. And i havent been doing a good job of hanging out much...i apologize. Im excited for this summer though....im really looking forward to it. I mean this semester was ok, but just ok. Theres been better ones in the past.
Im ready to move from the past move forward.
This week im spending time applying for jobs and things for the fall (in case some other things dont pan out). I havent really applied for any positions, but sent a resume to one company already in San Juan, so well see how that goes.

Everybody should come to the party the 2nd and enjoy. Its one last time to see everyone before we all go our seperate ways. It should be fun though and im looking forward to seeing everyone out.

I wrote you a poem

But I threw it away

I couldn’t decide

On what I wanted to say

I thought itd be easy

To just pick up my pen

And write out a poem

But I was wrong then

I cursed and I yelled

Could it be this hard?

Next time I figured

Ill just buy you a card

I wrote you a poem

Couldn’t think of a line

But ill write you a new one

With emotion this time

Brown haired girl

Brown haired girl

Insightful, Intriguing

Delightful, daydreaming

I wish you could stay

A little longer I pray

It seems like I just met you

The other day

We talk and we fight

About nothing it seems like

But try as I might

I can’t forget the good times

The rappers they see it

And now I believe it

That twinkle in your eye

Caught me by surprise

Remember that time?

At Mollys that night

The popcorn did fly

That my mouth would deny

Brown haired girl

So curious about me

But still you wont ask me

why im not so happy

Maybe some….day

So beautiful, so nice

You should visit here twice!

Three times if you’d like

Just once wont suffice!

Im glad I met you

I say it this time

But ill mean it forever

That’s why I wrote you this rhyme

Sunday, April 13, 2008

I hop on a plane

Dare I look back?

This feeling is strange

Regrets’ what I lack

To start my part two

This story will last

With a new pair of shoes

And a blue Nike hat

I had a good time

Here in this place

But ive got to do mine

This goal that i chase

Forget me not

I wont forget you

Someday ill be back

And I hope you will too

Thursday, April 10, 2008

I raise my glass
Cuz this time will pass
Everything we knew will too
Stop wasting time

And say what’s on my mind
How much she means to you
Have I lost my mind? Should I think twice?
Theres one thing id rather do
I whisper softly from my heart
“Ive saved the last kiss for you”

And I don’t know how to go on
When things are not the same
Continue leaning to the past
And the moment that she came

So I raise my glass
This time will pass
But I wont forget your face
Looking back ill realize
God I loved this place

poem 2

I thought i would write this
Its all kinda new
To think I had known you
But that wasn’t true

I wish you were someone else
That’s no lie
And now I don’t care
To let the time fly by

Soon you will go
And ill do the same
Well live our own lives
Survive our own way

And now I say bye
Forget that we met
Start things all over
And start to regret

poem

Reset
If i had a reset button
and i could start things new
Id turn back to that time
that i first met you

So familiar, So common..
I remember this place
And there you were sitting
with a smile on your face

I thought what to say
How i smell, Hows my breath
If you saw me youd notice
Im scared half to death

Relax, keep it cool
Was all i could say
Anything to help me
From acting this way

When i talked..I trembled
What could i do
It didnt seem real
Talking to you

I left feeling worried
That i wasnt "me"
Behind my own curtain
Was the guy i hope youd see

If i had a reset button
Id know what to do
Id go back and whisper
How much ive missed you

Done with Northwest. Done with Maryville.
Done with homework, tests, quizzes, projects.
Until i get a masters degree that is.
Its more than a number.
Its a countdown.
Its a goal. Its what ive worked towards for the last four years.
A degree.
Its also a deadline.
34.
34 Days to look for a job.
Study or Work Abroad and apply for a Visa.
34 days.....each day more important than the next.
So much to do.
Ive been here before. But not like this. Not in this way.
I should be more prepared. But im not.
Just....34

*Update*

I know everyone is anxiously sitting by their computer, clicking the refresh button over and over...waiting for me to update this thing. Dont worry, im still alive...you can call off the search!

The last couple of days have been really good. Friday Amanda, Laurel, Joe, Nathan, Jennifer, and some "swedish" chick came over and we all hung out and had a few beverages (con alcohol...ha). I didnt drink a whole lot, but it was fun. They had Irish car bombs thanks to Amanda and Laurel. I walked all the way to the Tower Suites (in the rain no less) to watch a movie with Kari and came back to crazyness :D It was fun though...reminds me of times in South with the craaazzzzy Russian Phil :)

Saturday Niels, Min, me, y Kari all went to the African Friends Association Dinner, where we also met up with Nicole and Daniel. The dinner was good i thought. Ill describe it as best as i can:

Food

Ass

More Food

Slideshow

More Ass

Ass again

:P

It was fun. After that we met back up at the crib and went to Molly's apartment for some card games. I think it was during this time that Perla got drrrrruuuuunnnnk...again. :D

And of course Niels threw up his Shocker sign.....two in the pink one in the stink...wow...haha.
Afterwards, we walked.....thats right...walked all the way to the party. The part turned out pretty good i though, lots of people dancing (ok, maybe only like 1 person dancing and thirty acting like they were :D ).

Today i ran outside for a little bit with Kari and played some basketball and racquetball with Min. Its a very relaxing day (which means i was lazy). I get a new phone soon, and im doing some research on what to get. Right now its either a blackjack II or iphone.....ay decisions.

So tonight i ran with Kari around the campus. Its about time the weather was good enough to actually run outside at night. I remember running all the time in the summer and early fall in the evening, so hopefully i can make this a regular thing again. We also had a cookout to celebrate the spring time weather, my mom came and i got a lot of gifts, and free food at the Italian restaurant. Basically it was a great afternoon after a long day at work.

Not much else really...

Continuacion

In continuation of the last post...

Best Northwest game: Fall 2007 Grand Valley vs Northwest semifinal game at bearcat stadium. It was freezing cold, it was windy, but it was perfect too. Nothing beats rushing the field with everyone and going crazy taking down the goal posts and carrying them all the way to the pub to be cut. Especially since it was a win against GVSU.

Best Homecoming: I think it was sophomore year i think when Egon and I went on a night of mayhem for homecoming :D I remember staying up all night going from house party to house part, petting a dog at some random house, and getting back from partying at 6 or so in the morning. Add in that we also saw Tomoyoshi coming back from his partying and he was drunk. It was hillarious. And then i went to sleep for 15 minutes and then was woken up to go to kegs and eggs at the Outback. I was so tired, but it was worth it!

Theres so many crazy nights....i wish i could name them all, but i wont bother with all those details ;)

Anyways, today was very busy for me. I didnt end up really getting back home until about 9 or so. I had to work 8-10, then i worked on some spanish homework, then spanish class, then i went around town and took photos for class....lots of them. At least the weather was great! I went to the library for a meeting. Then i stopped back at the apartment for a little bit, but went to the art building to upload my photos. That lasted until about 9, and i went to walmart afterwards to get dinner. Cooked, and now im finally relaxing :D

Im sure tomorrow is gonna be busy too. But at least i get some pan, cafe, ok cola, and more tomorrow evening!!!! :D

Reflections

So since theres only 54 more days, i guess ill dwell on the past 4 years of college:

Best Semester so far: Its a close one (almost a tie) between Fall of 2004 my freshman year, Spring of 2007, and Sophomore year. I would say that Spring of 2007 would win just because i was more active and i got to know a lot of great people and those people that i knew before i got to know even more! Almost every weekend i was doing something and i was in touch with everyone. Sophomore year would come second, because of the parties in South Complex that Egon and i hosted. It was great fitting 10 or 14 people in a small room and switching out the regular lights for black lights. We definently were the life of the floor since everyone knew us and always wanted to hang out. Ive never stayed up late every night in my life as i did when i lived there! It was also classic singing "I want to Fuck You" in the early morning in the hall...and playing indoor hall soccer even though we werent supposed to....priceless. And of course the Techno music nonstop was just awesome...pushup....tooter on da water scooter or whatever....alcoholic party....classics. Water gun fights in South...movie nights in Anns room....wow. That one could pretty much be number one. Its really close. Freshman year was fun too. I met all the internationals Jeroen, Egon, Tessa, Phil, Dorien, Elisa, DZ, etc. Lets see i remember halloween dressing up as a ninja turtle for the kids and wondering how on earth i was going to fit into a kids costume without showing everything. Also midnight station runs with Egon and Jeroen were fun as well. Hanging out in Cindy and Samantha's room until late night talking or watching a movie....having like a gang of like 15 people go to lunch every time with you..haha.....good times.

Worst semester: I would say it would be fall semester of 2007. Just too many projects and meetings, homework, work, etc. The weekends were fun, but the weekdays were crazy. I still cant believe i made it out in one piece. Also some of the people i knew graduated, so i didnt get to see them like i normally had. I went out and had fun and all, but it still didnt match what spring semester was. That and it got colder and colder and colder and colder......

Best Friend to talk to: Egon without a doubt. He is always there, ready to drink, just chill, or whatever. We think alot alike and its fun to chill with him and talk about things.

Biggest Regret: Easy. Not meeting and hanging out with the Belgium girls earlier in the semester. I think that they would agree with me on that one. The time that we did have was worth it, but we definently shouldve hung out earlier! I did not like the feeling after dropping them off at the airport....its hard to describe.

Most sung songs:
Push-up by Freestylers
Fuck You Gently- Tenacious D
Alcoholic Party- DJ Kicken
Through the Wire- Kanye West (Actually almost all of Kanyes cd..haha)

Oh how things have changed.....or have they?

-alex-

more to come...

54

54 Days

Thats all i have left until i graduate. 54 Days. And in these 54 days i have to do a job shadow (which means probably a kc trip), book a ticket for san juan, oh...and the whole find a job thing. Im more leaning to though living abroad for a couple years. That is, if i have the money. I think if i work abroad for a little bit i can pay off my loans quicker, travel and visit, and do whatever ever else i feel like doing. Right now i have a couple places i wouldnt mind living in for a while, but nothing permanent. Actually i need to find a job also before i do that :D. My destinations include: Italy, Spain, Netherlands, UK, and of course...Puerto Rico. So basically its Europe or bust...haha. Well i guess not really "bust", because ill plan it out better than that! Im just happy that this is my last couple months EVER in Maryville and maybe even my last real winter! Its weird to think that, but im excited....unsure about things, but excited!

Saturday

So Saturday was actually pretty good...

First of all for most of the morning and early afternoon i lied around and did absolutely nothing. I didnt even change out of my sleep clothes because i was so comfortable. I just played some video games and watched some basketball on tv....i was content. I did make some cookies though...polvorones (which is kind of a type of vanilla sugar cookie of sorts). It turned out ok, but not great! Anyways, i went to the ISO dinner with Chris, Egon, Ann, Egon's host family, Antonio, John, and Natalie. I think that this years ISO dinner was not as good as compared with previous years by far. The food was good, but there wasnt enough variety. The performances on a whole were not as good as the previous years either. I was kinda disappointed with that, but it still was far from horrible! :)
After that we hung out with Amanda and Laurel at our aparment, and then went to Vishu's house for their party that they were having. It was pretty packed inside, but it was fun to hang out with everyone and i seemed to know a lot of people there, so thats always nice. haha a funny thing we did is we played the name game with some of the drunk girls that came up and talked with us (me, Egon, and Chris). For example, my name for part of the night was Ricardo from Colombia.....and Egon was Kurt from Virginia :D. The drunk girls fall for it...haha. Its like Vegas...i can be whoever i want for the night ;). Chris was trying to get me to go home with one of my friends, Nicole, but i didnt want to. Well, its not that, but its just that im more respectful of people especially when they are drunk :D Its how i grew up i guess. That and i have my mind on other people sometimes....

Anyways, so we hung out there for the night and then left. Well actually Chris jumped on the Safe Ride van with this girl who was definently not attractive and pretty easy from what i know, but for Chris does it really matter? :D Chris.....Chris.....Chris....when will you learn? :) So now im here in the apartment all alone since Michael went to the bars and im making mental bets with myself if Chris will come home tonight or not. My bets are on the NOT.

Tonight i didnt even drink that much....and i feel good about that because i didnt make any stupid mistakes! :D

Molly's

So i went to Molly's tonight. It was the first time in a while. It was fun to hang out with people and just relax, but i didn't like smelling like smoke afterwards :P My friend even tried to get me to go out and dance with this one girl, but no....i dont dance all the time! I didnt even drink that much. Actually hardly anything really. Its definently different than the usual, but i kinda like it like that. It shows that im being more responsible for myself and my actions. I dont know what to think of it, but i kinda like where this is going...

Keeping it short! Time for bed....

p.s. I was glad to see you tonight...i just wish i talked to you like i wanted to.

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

This week ive had a really good week for some reason. I think ive had just too many things on my mind for a long time and now im just thinking more clearly. Its like that one song....you know what im talking about ;) Oh the other night i had by far the strangest dream. It was weird...

I dont really have anything to talk about. No big philosophical talk about life..nothing really. Im doing good and i cant wait until my mom comes back so i get some food from the island!

But i will leave you with some quotes...

From the movie Into the Wild:

"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."
— Chris McCandless

ok....im too lazy to look for more quotes. More tomorrow!

Tuesday...,

I had a pretty good day i guess...pretty normal for a Tuesday. I went out for the night and had a few drinks. I don't know but i think im thinking of slowing down on the drinking part of things. Ive gotten to the point that i need to focus on post-graduation...im done with the college party lifestyle for the most part. This wont mean that i wont be going out on special times or anything....i will, but i need to slow things down thats for sure. I know people expect better from me....i expect better from me.

You know how theres something you want to say to someone but you dont know how they would respond? I think i feel that way a lot sometimes, even more this semester. Its almost like i have things to say but theres something stopping me from saying it. Its hard to describe. I dont get it....i need to figure it out.

Tomorrow should be a good day. And the rest of the week is gonna be good. I already have things planned, so thatll be fun. I cant wait until thursday for Applebees and a movie at the Hangar.....

Until next time...

Adios

I really need to step up my efforts not only in school, but mostly my internship and looking for employment after i graduate. I dont know why ive been slacking recently, but i have to get my head on straight.

We are thinking of having a 70s party. Details to follow once we plan it out better.

Presentation tomorrow as well as an exam. Yipee

Im glad i got to talk to you today and get some things straightened out a bit. Hopefully we can talk more and in person no doubt. I want to and i think you feel the same way.

Some quotes:

We are shaped and fashioned by what we love.-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.- Anne Frank

My favorite for the day :

Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself-and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to-letting a person be what he really is.

columbia trip

So Saturday night we went out like at 11 or 11:30 or something. We went to McNallys Irish Pub and hung out with Bolivian Chris and his cousin until about 12:40 and then headed to Generic. I liked the set up of generic and the overall "feel" or the place. It looks very sophisticated and not ghetto like the bars in the ville. Pretty good priced drinks there too. After that we went to after hours at Moes Southwest Grill because Jonathan was DJ'ing the night. I think that its a great concept. A place to go after the bars that you can still party AND get food! It was open until 4 and its BYOB. It was kinda strange to be bringing alcohol to a restaurant, but it was a good kind of strange. After we were partied out, we came back to the crib and jammed out. Yes....at 4 am we had a concert of sorts. Guitar, bass guitar, piano, and drums.....at 4am. It was so loud that everyone in the subdivision i think could hear it. The cops even got called for a noise complaint, but didn't do anything. It so late, so that was almost a guarantee.

Today we went to the downtown Campus Grill and had lunch. They have $1.00 burgers and fries. Thats so cheap. If i went to school there that would be my second home. Afterwards, we went and walked around. Columbia is so different because there are a ton of people always walking around and they are very diverse. Its nice though, because then you always see new people and hear the most strange conversations. Then we drove back to the ville...through snow and rain! :(

Here is what i have learned from my time at the ZOU:
- Be prepared to spend money $
- Lisa has some hot neighbors...really hot. Actually Columbia has some hot girls in general.
- Try something new!
- Everyone (and yes i mean everyone) is so laid back there. I dont know how they get any of their homework done.
- There are a ton of sub shops..actually a lot of restaurants in general that ive never heard of.
- Jam sessions at 4 in the morning, while fun, usually lead to police
- The good weather puts everyone in a great mood...the bad weather does the opposite.

Overall it was just what i needed to get away from all the drama that is maryville.

Live from Columbia

I guess ill update since i have nothing to do right now:

Yesterday Chris and I got into Columbia and then we went to the toga party next door. It was Megan's 21st so it was pretty cool. We had like 6 people with us (Curtis, Erin, Lisa, Chris, Raul, and myself) and instead of paying 5 dollars each for a cup for the keg(s) they had, we only paid 5 dollars total. Not a bad deal if i say so....we took shots, jello shots, and had a good time. Theres also some pretty funny stories, but i don't feel like writing all that..haha.

Today we went to the Heidelberg for lunch, then to the Pinnacles, which is a park with big rocks and we climbed up all the way. We had some great views from that high up, but of course, i forgot my camera so i didn't take any :( After that we went to the aquatic center at the college and relaxed in the sauna and hot tub for a while. It was great to enjoy such a nice day outside for once!

Tonight we are going downtown to the clubs...maybe several of them, but im not sure. We also might stop by at some party thats going down, so it should be a good night. I just gotta remember to take the camera with me this time!!!

conversaciones

I had a good conversation with Yannicke about things and i think that it has helped things. I think that there was a reason as to why we hung out so much. I havent even known her for that long and she knows me better than some of my friends that have known me forever. Thanks and yes i will take your advice.

¡Ay! que yo la quiero tanto y no... y no la quiero perder

Columbia awaits...

done!

I am so glad that i am finally done with projects and tests for this week...not to mention class!
It was crazy, but now im looking forward to the weekend!

Heres an old song, but a good one. This brings back memories of a certain someone last spring semester :P

Don't Cry- Guns n' Roses

Talk to me softly
There's something in your eyes
Don't hang your head in sorrow
And please don't cry
I know how you feel inside I've
I've been there before Something changin' inside you
And don't you know

Don't you cry tonight
I still love you baby
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

Give me a whisper
And give me a sigh
Give me a kiss before you tell me goodbye
Don't you take it so hard now
And please don't take it so bad
I'll still be thinking of you
And the times we had, baby

And don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

And please remember that I never lied
And please remember
How I felt inside now honey
You gotta make it your own way
But you'll be alright now sugar
You'll feel better tomorrow
Come the morning light now baby

And don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry tonight
Baby maybe someday
Don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry
tonight

The guide...

Alex's Guide to how to be a true playa:

Step 1: Make sure your shirt matches your lunchbox.
Step 2: Clean your kicks and make them shine.
Step 3: Keep them guessing...dont show too much and have your shirt tucked in.
Step 4: Have that winning smile that says "yeah i know im good looking".
Step 5: When having to dress up in unconventional attire, such as for halloween, make sure you look like a badass doing so. Go ahead, show some muscle..let them know you dont mess around like that.
Step 6: Have a backup person (preferably one with a Ninja Turtles gun and dressed like Superman) in case things get crazy.
Step 7: Always walk with the ladies. Even to school. Its noticed and appreciated by all.

So there you have it. With this few short tips you too can be sweeping women off their feet. Present yourself well and everything else will follow. :P

Just having some fun...

"Etch A Sketch"

Some things...

I wish i had more time to get to know everyone that ive met. There are some really great people out there (consequently, there are some not so great ones too). I tend to place people into categories and within talking with you for a little while, i can determine whether or not we would hit it off. I know thats not the best tactic, but thats what most people tend to do. Something i should be working on...

I treat my life like an etch a sketch. Its a new day i shake it up and almost start over...i try to meet new people, try new things, or talk to people i wouldnt normally talk to. Out of all the people ive met, i could only say that i have around seven people who i could trust entirely without thinking twice about it. Those people that i tell them anything and everything. I know them and they know me. There are a lot of people i know that i trust, but may not necessarily tell them everything and anything all the time. I think its just because it doesnt concern them or they probably dont care too much. There are people i want to learn more about too. The rest are friends, acquaintances...you know, the type that you would talk to and say at a club or party, but may not call regularly.

I want to learn more about you, not because i have to or anything...i want to. I want to talk, hang out, go to dinner with you, play racquetball, ill do whatever it takes. We could not even be playing racquetball and id still be happy. I like seeing you.... I don't know what i should say sometimes. You are one of the people that i really care of how you think of me, so sometimes i have trouble putting things into words. I hardly ever had that problem. I may not know you too well yet, but i like what i do know about you. I like you even when you hit me with the racquetball. Thats just funny anyways, so i cant seriously be mad about that. :)

I feel a lot better after that....

I just don't get it sometimes. Its hard to explain. Its almost like i'm just "here" sometimes. I think i let people walk over me with the hope that things change. Different semester, same stuff.

I just wish sometimes i could start over. Everything. New college, new friends..everything.

Im really hard on myself sometimes i think. I have faults i know that. Everyone does. I just wish i knew what they were. For someone who knows a lot of people, im still having a tough time reading people. I thought i knew, but no...i just told myself that i did. Truth is, i still have a lot of learning to do.

I want to go back home.

Give me a sign....a something....anything.

Character, perserverance, and determination

This is dedicated to a special someone...

Sometimes it takes the most unexpected event to truly try your character, perserverance, and determination. As over-cliched as it may seem, its true: "You never truly know how lucky you are, how good you have it, until its gone". This is the truth. If nothing else in the world is, this is.
Ive had my share of personal events that have challenged me...dared me to rise above. To look beyond and to learn. To learn to appreciate what you have; friends, family. These things have molded me in to a better person; more appreciative of friends and the time i spend with family. Share your life. With friend, family, and significant others. Enjoy your time together. This is easier said than done sometimes. We are human. We have days where we hate each other or are having a bad day and want nothing to do with a certain person. The challenge is to try to change that behavior. Mold it to your own needs. Find out who you are and share that. In fact share what you have. Even if you are not sure. As long as you can say that you made an effort to reach out, then you have done your part.

I think this is why i try to savor those special moments with people, because they are exactly that...special. It could be the most routine thing...watching a movie, talking about your day, or otherwise....treat it with meaning. Treat tomorrow as a new day. Have fun, laugh, and make friends....make yourself a better friend for your current friends. Its a lot easier than it might sound.

If you stumble...catch yourself. Dont allow yourself to fall down. Motivate yourself to do better, be better. Use your past mistakes as fuel for your motivation. Above all, dont give in.

"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it". -Michael Jordan

"Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on. Remember that. "(Blow)

"You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can't do it. You want something? Go get it. Period."

Numero 1

I like writing on these, so i decided to start one back up. After this weekend, heres my random thoughts:

-A change of scenery doesn't necessarily have to mean travel somewhere. Surround yourself with good people....new people.....interesting people....people you WANT to learn more about. Above all, don't have a routine. BREAK IT. build it up again. A NEW ONE..... and repeat.

-Heres a simple rule: Take time to listen to people. You'll learn more about them that way. I mean really listen. Sometimes a response is not necessary, just as long as the person speaking can see that you are genuinely interested in what they are saying.

-Living for the moment is one of the best things you could possibly do. "Dont hold back if nothing is really holding you back". Chances are the only thing holding you back is yourself. Saying "Eh....maybe next time" when theres nothing holding you back is a big mistake. Not only will you doubt yourself in the future, but so will everyone else. In fact, disregard the future all together and focus on the now. As always, be smart about it.

-If you care about something/someone tell them or, rather, show them. It does not have to be something big. Just something. Something that shows the other person that you care. Show that you are interested and take the time to talk and, like before, listen too.

Thats all i got for now i think...
